My name is Emma Dillon (she/her) and I am a BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist.

I have over 12 years of experience as a therapist working with people 1:1 to improve their mental and physical health, initially in physical wellbeing and as a mindfulness teacher and more recently as a counsellor.

Alongside, and prior to therapeutic work, I have worked for a number of charities on community wellbeing and mental health projects, several of these I still have an interest and involvement in.

Throughout your time in therapy, our relationship is absolutely central and the approach taken will be as unique as you are. Our sessions may incorporate trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, creative and cognitive tools, techniques and ideas, which will support you to arrive at solutions and conclusions that are aligned with who you are.

My training and experience has given me the skills to help you move forward with whatever you are facing with self-compassion.

I work with client's both on a short term (6 weeks) and long term basis, depending on what is right for you. Sessions are 1 hour long and can be weekly or fortnightly.

Whether you have been for counselling before, experienced other therapies or are considering it for the first time, your questions are entirely welcome and we will work collaboratively throughout.

As a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) I am bound by their ethical standards, including confidentiality.

You can contact me via text, email, phone or via the contact form on this website - whichever you prefer.

Following this I can offer you a free brief phone call (approx 15 minutes) or an initial reduced price session 1 hour long session, in which we can discuss your reasons for coming to counselling and the the way in which we might work together.

"Trying to change ourselves doesn't work in the long run because we're resisting our own energy. Self-improvement can have temporary results, but lasting transformation occurs only when we honour ourselves as the source of wisdom and compassion."  - Pema Chodron
